My life is so systematic now: wake up, get ready for school, sleep during transportation there, go attend class, eat during break, go attend more class, go home, study, eat dinner, study, take a shower, study, play computer, and sleep. And cycle repeats again. Except for Mondays and Wednesdays where I go to work right after school but when I go home, it's pretty much the same. Even this weekend, I have study periods that are quite lengthy. It's only been 4 days of school already so I don't really know how long I can keep up this study routine but I'm going to try.

I really need to up my GPA to around 65~70% to get into the major that I want, Animal Biology, since I pretty much screwed myself over by slacking off last year. Stupid sciences....Organic chemistry and cell biology is kicking my ass right now with the amount of readings I have to do.

Cell biology: I've had to read 94 pages already for Monday. Still got 25 pages more to go.
Chemistry: I've had to read the pre-requisite material consisting of ~120 pages and about 40pages of the new material.

I've had to read quite a bit for Math and Earth and Ocean Science but those weren't bad. For my readings, I jot down notes while I read...just things I feel are important. I, then, do the problems in the textbook. Afterwards, I return to my notes and revise to get directly to the point.

I bet that if I had a good study habit last year, it wouldn't be so hard right now. I fell asleep last night on my problem set answer sheet and woke up with my penciled answers imprinted on the side of my face. Gave myself a scare when I saw myself in the bathroom this morning. I thought I was breaking out.

The most wonderful thing happened to me on Thursday during my chemistry class. I had pre-read on the lesson so I understood everything the Professor was talking about. I was even able to explain to the girl sitting next to me. It was just the most awesome thing. I felt so 'smart.' So keeping up with Chemistry is a very good thing.

Does anyone have good study techniques? I think the reason why I take so long too is because I'm a freak at neat writing. I can't stand it if I write messy on my notes so I end taking a bit more time than is probably necessary to keep my hand writing 'pretty.'

And I hate the new Vista WebCT. It's causing major lagging on my computer and it has too many buttons and tabs so I can't find what I need. Grrrr.....

I called today to tell my manager that I was going to quit my job and focus more on school work. I have two more shifts left before I'm done. I'm going to miss all the new friends I made there.

I'm so glad I have this journal and decided to write in it more. And hi F-list!!! How are you doing? I hope you all have a great day.

Drained.....

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Ugh...it's only been two days of school and I'm already exhausted. I resolved to do better academic wise, so I've been studying a lot lately. Doing all the pre-reading, problem sets. I have 6 courses this term and 5 courses next term. I live pretty far from my University so it takes me 2 hours to commute...thus if I have an early morning class...I have to wake up at 5. And then on Mondays and Wednesdays, I go to work right after classes end.

End result? *goes green* JAZNGURL SMASH!

I've started to write this new H/D story.

It's called:

Little Green Riding Hood and the Big Bad and Naughty Wolf

*snort* The title is a bit lame but it suited the story plot I had in mind so I decided on it. I might change it later though.

Anyways, the story is supposed to be a smuttier HP spin-off of 'Little Red Riding Hood.'

So far I've finished the sort-of-prologue. I like it. Now the real story part I'm having problems with.

I don't know how to start it and how to keep it flowing. I've vaguely got some plot points in mind but I haven't completely planned out what's going to happen. So I'm a bit stuck.

I think I'll sit on it for a few days before I continue. My Notepads of Ideas is kind of blank at the moment so hopefully by the time I do start, it'll have something written on it.

I still have two Naruto fics that I've started but haven't finished. Damn this writer's block.....

School starts on September 4th. *ack!*

Oooh and I watched V for Vendetta again today.
I just absolutely <3 that movie. I'm so attracted to V. Even though you don't see his face at all, his character and his voice...is just 'guh'. And the whole political aspect of the movie is so interesting - Anarchy against Fascism, the usage of propaganda and censorship at its worst.

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you, and you may call me V."

This entire monologue never fails to make my heart beat faster and make me smile. Is it odd that I find a man who wears a Guy Fawkes mask and knows his 'V' words so well that he could speak such a lengthy alliteration absolutely hot? *grins*

*sigh* I wish that my University would have the final total amount calculated instead of leaving a portion of it unaccounted for until 4 days before the deadline.

I went on Tuesday to pay for my tuition. I thought it was done and over with. Imagine my surprise when yesterday I checked my financial account online and I still had $435 to pay.

So I had to go to the campus again today to pay the rest of the tuition. I figured that since I was going to the University, I might as well bring my books with me that I need to get refunded. So my parents went with me since it was their credit card that was used to purchase the books.

Textbooks

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So my Term 1 textbooks came today, courtesy of Faststart, at around 9:30am.

I looked at the total on the bill and it was around $935. O.M.G....why are textbooks so expensive?! I was really shocked. My textbooks last year were around $400-500. But then I noticed I already had two books and I mentioned on the order that I had them. And I already have a PRS system clicker. Also I received a package of textbooks that I don't need for the chemistry course I'm taking. So that's like $300 I get back.

I asked my friend about his textbooks. He said that he was going to get a copy from the internet. Which is a good and less costly idea but I'd rather get an authentic textbook just in case.

My photos of the Gay Pride Parade got developed and I picked them up a while back but I forgot to mention it.

Looking at these photos, I realized that I have no sense in Photography.

It was kind of funny looking back how I noticed after I used up all the film and after I got home from the Parade, that there was a flash button at the front of the instant camera. I didn't use flash at all while I was using the camera. When I was taking pictures, I thought the Instant Camera was a flash-less one. I told my mom and she said, "I've done that many times before."

My reply was a short silence before, "We are so family."

When I took the photos to get developed, I told the lady at the counter that the photos were taken without flash and she had them developed as bright as possible. So they don't look that bad. Just a bit unclear and a bit dark but not as dark as I was expecting it to be. They did a good job at correcting my error as best as possible.

Next year, I shall thrive to take better pictures and actually make sure there's a flash button and use it.

My internet got cut off yesterday. It came as a surprise. I get home from work and I go onto my computer to see that there's no internet. My dad phoned the service provider and asked what happened. They cut us off to try to get my dad's attention and to get in contact with him. They basically wanted to tell us that we were over-using, going over our 60GB bandwidth. It's only the holidays and when there's no school that we over use the computer. So yeah, I'm not allowed to download anything right now. So my YAOI scanlations will have to wait until September comes in. Which is in two days. (^-^)

I haven't yet finished a final copy of my Bring Back the P0rn entry yet. I'll do that tomorrow. I'm so excited for the event.

*dreamy sigh* Another Uruha icon.

Today I went to the University with my mom to pay tuition. [They don't accept credit cards anymore so we had to pay either with debit or cheque] On the way home, we went shopping at Yaohan. [It's an Asian department store, more like T&T]

I met a friend (my friend's boyfriend) named Yuusuke and his brother there.

We said our hellos and I introduced him to my mom. But I used the wrong Japanese.

I told my mom, 'Kore ga Meichan no Kareshi.' This is Mei's boyfriend.

My mom explained later that 'kore' is used for animals, pets and things, not people. [Basically I introduced him as property.]

I was so embarassed. My mom apologized to Yuusuke for me [because I didn't really understand]. I have to remember that for introducing people, it's 'kochira no kata.'

I apologize to Yuusuke for saying such a rude thing.

That was just a post from my Japanese diary. [] are just commentaries that I couldn't write in Japanese. I can't write complicated Japanese so I use simple words. lol I probably sound like a small child to Japanese people.

And thank god for the Japanese language bar setting I have on my computer. Since I can't write/understand/read most of the chinese characters, I just type and press 'spacebar' and voila! instant Kanji. *Is proud*

And can you believe that the person in my Userpic for this post is a guy?! Uruha is so pretty~ *sigh*

Hello~

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I just wanted to say a big loud HELLO!
to all the new friends I've made from the Friending Frenzy at [info]phoenix_flies.

It's so nice to meet you and thanks for friending me back!

I just wanted to introduce myself a little further with this.

My dad is a 3rd generation Japanese, born and raised in Canada. My mom is actually from Japan. So in my home, Japanese is spoken to my mom and English to my dad. I have two younger brothers; both are absolutely annoying but even though I really want to kick them sometimes, I love them. I have 3 dogs. One malti-poo and two Havanese-Papillions.

I love anime/manga and grew up with Sailormoon and Power Rangers and Akazukin Chacha. The first robot anime I saw was J-Decker. Nowadays, I love Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Gundam Wing and lots more. My other main fandom is Naruto.

I love visual kei and Jrock, Japanese music and the fashion scene. They're all so gorgeous and wonderful! The guys are just so pretty. I know it's crossdressing but it's also a form of art. And the music is just wow. I fangirl at them all.

I trip over things because I don't lift my feet high enough when I walk. Art is a passion of mine and have tons of hobbies. I'm a Science student, going onto my 2nd year of University. If I'm eating in the car while my mom is driving, I sway with the movement of the turns so I don't spill my food. I am horrible at saving money and shy around new people but I do like making new friends. I don't mind silences. I love randomness and I have an addictive personality. I'm not in a relationship right now and don't plan to until school is done.

Personality and character-wise, I'm a quiet person though I may not seem like it online. I'm pretty happy and mild tempered. I don't get angry often and when I do, it doesn't last long. Probably because of my attention span. *g* I'm nice and I try very hard not to be rude to people.

I love, love, LOVE HP. It's my main fandom.

I'm going to be busy once school starts so I won't be journaling as much as I am now. But I'll make an effort to keep up with the f-list and I'll try to comment on friends' journals often. I like it when friends comment on mine too.

So, I hope to get to know all of you better in the future. I think that's all I have to say right now. Well,

4 6 4 9!
["Yoroshiku"(Nice to meet you)in Japanese in numbers. 4=yon 6=roku 4=shi 9=ku. Isn't that cool?!]

1 Litre of Tears *Japanese Drama*

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
This is the second time I've watched '1 Rittoru no Namida.'

This is probably the most saddest Japanese drama I have ever seen. I cried so much from beginning to end. My eyes were pink, sore and swollen. I had such a migraine from all that crying that I actually threw up, had to take a break and sleep before I could watch the next episode.

It's so heartbreaking.

The drama is about a 15-year old girl who is diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia, a degenerative disease. The drama follows her life from the time she was diagnosed to the very end at age 25.

The drama is based on the true story of Aya Kito. She wrote a diary called '1 Litre of Tears' until she could no longer hold a pencil.

Here are the links for the episodes: *They're subbed in English* )

Addiction

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I've become addicted to Ebay. So many items, such good prices. It's like my own shopping center in my house.

I've added more funds to my paypal. I haven't placed a bid yet but once I do, I'll be so paranoid about being outbid. Last time I placed a bid, I couldn't sleep well because I had to check again and again whether or not I was still highest bid. It was GazettE merchandise so it was so worth it. But I lost when the price went up to $54 including shipping for an autographed poster.

Gah...the latest item I'm currently watching is:

Shrinky Dinks

The inkjet paper refills and the original papers. But they're priced at ~$17 CAD with ~$4 CAD for shipping.

I've also been looking into Engraving kits and Japanese rock/punk clothing.

It's almost September and University as well as Music school starts. I haven't practiced at all, let alone touched my piano. I told my mom at the beginning of summer that I would have accomplished 'The Ballad No.1 in G-minor' by Chopin before school starts. That plan kind of backfired when laziness started to settle in during the course of the summer and I didn't feel like practicing. I'll start practicing tomorrow just so I could tell my piano teacher that I practiced somewhat.

It's hard for me to believe that some people practice 8-12 hours of piano everyday. My university friend who is in Music says that she tries to get at least 5 hours on school days and 8 hours on weekends. I really hate practicing but I love playing and learning piano, so practicing is essential. Once I get into a schedule, I think I'll be able to practice at least an hour to three with breaks in between.

And I'm happily vegetarian for almost two months now. Well not fully vegetarian. I still eat fish. So that would make me a soft or Californian vegetarian wouldn't it. I'll have to look that up.

Stuck

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I've started to write this Naruto story. It starts off with Naruto chasing Sasuke and then progresses from there. So I got to a point in the plot where I'm absolutely stuck. I don't know how to word it so it can keep going.

The story makes sense until that point. Then it just gets really confusing.

Huh, so this is writer's block.

I was hoping that listening to music will help me to write this out but it's not. With all my other fics, I just had my ear phones on and blasted my music and the story would just come to me and I would write it down.

With this Naruto fic, however, I'm just not going anywhere.
I'll probably just scrap it and rewrite it later.

I also realized that I have problems with pronouns especially in paragraphs where a certain character would be interacting with another. So my sentences are often choppy and don't flow. So I'm going to try to fix that habit and figure out how to improve. I've been studying other writing techniques and I've noticed that a character's name is probably used none or once or twice in a paragraph and the rest of the time, the name is replaced with 'he/she' and it looks better that way. So I'll have to fix that. Does anyone have good advice on how to make a story flow?

*I can't believe I didn't realize this until after I sent my story to betas. I feel so so bad.*

I've also decided to f-lock my journal, this'll take place in two weeks.

YAY! I finished my smut entry for [info]the_minx_17's Bringing Back The P0rn event! It only took 5-6 hours or so which surprised me since I was expecting it to take me longer like finish it next week.

So word count: 4, 120
Pages: Little over 9.

I went through it and revised.

Contents of the story? Let's say that I have 6 things listed in my warning! And it's NC-17. "RAWR"

Hmm...I'll write up a few more. See what other kinks I can write.

I'm thinking of f-locking my NC-17/R posts. My brother knows about my IJ journal now and if he knows about the content, then my parents end up knowing about the content. I'll probably do it a full week after Bringing Back The P0rn finishes.

Yet another summer day...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I only had 5 hours of sleep today. I just can't sleep well during the summer. My room is just too hot even though I have a mini fan going at night.

My puppies are about 3 months old. They've gotten so big since my parents bought them. Their appetites are huge and only one knows to do its body functions on the puppy training pad. The other puppy goes wherever it wants which is pretty frustrating to clean up after each time.

I've thought of a plan to save money for my trip to Japan in 2009. If I keep money stored up on my Debit Card, I'll just use it up since it's there. But if I hand it to my mom for safe keeping, I'll never get access to it for spending until my vacation time. It only took me 3 months of constant spending to come to this.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Which means that I spent almost all day reading BL and Yaoi manga.

My mom woke me up today to tell me that she was going to work on the front hedges and that I should do some sort of activity too. So I lay in bed for a few moments before turning towards my laptop and signing into my insanejournal account to lurk at the [info]daily_yaoi pages.

I pulled myself away before I got too hooked, got changed and went to the front yard to help out my mom. I just pulled out the weeds. Well I pulled out weeds, played with my dog, took a break, went back to pulling weeds, took a break and etc. Luckily, I pulled out enough weeds to satisfy my mom.

I finished and went inside the house to make a cold iced dessert treat for me and my mom.

It's called 'Kakigoori' in Japanese and it's really really good. I'll put up a recipe later.

So I took yet another break. My neighbour came over and me, him and my brothers spoke for an hour or too before he left and I went back into the house.

I trekked upstairs to my room, changed into my pj's and climbed back into my unmade bed. I turned on my laptop again from it's hibernate mode and read up on BL/Yaoi manga. I only left to go to the bathroom and to eat dinner.

So I didn't do much today. But I got to thinking of a new fic plot. Alice in Wonderland/Harry Potter cross-over. Of course it'll be H/D. I'm still going over scenerios in my mind. I should read the book and watch the movie again just to get the setting and plot. I know for sure that the fic won't follow the Alice in Wonderland plot-line exactly.

I'm still thinking about it. I might not do it in the end. I've got a lot of plots in mind so I'll have to see which one I feel like doing.

Oh and the recipe:
